While many people have been dismayed by the hostile Muslim reaction to those Danish editorial cartoons, American journalist and novelist Claire Berlinski likely is not one of them. Based on the thesis she presents in her first work of non-fiction, Berlinski would no doubt argue that considering Europe's tortured history and its abject failure to integrate its large and disconnected Muslim minority, this upheaval was entirely predictable.
